We are looking forward to the (Children's Book Council of Australia) CBCA Bookweek which is held Australia wide from 16th to 23rd of August 2025. This year's theme is " Book an adventure ". In the months of July and August we will read stories from the shortlisted CBCA books in the library during the weekly class sessions.  

On Friday the 22th of August  (To be confirmed) we will celebrate books and reading, by dressing up in our favourite book characters. If you don't have a favourite book character you may be inspired by this year's theme " Book an adventure " Details about the dress-up parade time ...closer to the date.

In the last week of June we talked to the students about being creative, not spending (too much) money, using old clothes, checking the op-shops, decorating shirts, using cartons etc. 

In the week of 25th of August to 29th of August  we will have the Scholastic Bookfair set up in the drama-room, next to the library.

-We will set up the fair on Monday the 25th

- be open for sales Tuesday (26)-Wednesday(27)-Thursday928)-Friday before and after school (Friday only morning- pack up after )

We will need help from parents please! We can not run the bookfair without your help.

Details will follow but in short:

We need 

* 2 helpers on Monday 25/8 to set up

* 4 to 5 helpers Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday- Friday to help with sales

* 2 helpers to help pack up on Friday.

A roster will be made available in the first week of August. The librarians are happy to coordinate, but help is very much appreciated!

The kids will love seeing you helping out in the "shop"! 

The profit of the sales will help us with buying more resources for our library! We are very grateful for this!
