Dear Parents, Guardians and Community,
Thank you to the staff, parents and students who represented the school at the Williamstown Anzac day Ceremony. Our students did us proud. We pay tribute to our families and friends who have served our country.
Last Friday we had a fantastic day for Day 1 of our Flourishing Learners training. We joined hundreds of teachers looking at Behaviour Curriculum, that is what behaviours we want our students to know. On the day we learnt about the importance of having consistent practices for our school around processes such as entering and leaving classrooms, answering questions, voice levels and other practices. Staff are now introducing practices around classroom entry and exit. We also worked on teacher skills such as proximity, pause, scan and many others. We can already seen calmer entry into our school, students settled to work quicker and more importantly our students having less cognitive overload as we simplifier how they move about our school, which means more brain space for learning.
2025 Enrolment. Next week we send out our First Round Offers for 2025 prep. We have more applications than positions, which is the first time that has happened since covid so once again, thank you to all the families that are out selling our school, it has really worked. We have our first story time for our new enrolments on May 14 at 2:30 so our new students can start to get familiar with the school and new families can start meeting each other.
Mother's Day Stall. Thank you to our Parents and Friends Association for supporting our families with our Mother's Day stall. I know many of our families have brought vouchers and the students are excited about the treasures they will buy.
God Bless,
Anthony
PACER (Parliament and Civics Education Rebate)
Students from our school will soon be undertaking an education tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding to our school in the amount of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.
I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing, but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.
You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.
I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.
ANZAC Day
As a school, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the remarkable school leaders of St. Mary's who exemplified dedication and respect at the recent Dawn service. Rising early and embodying the values of our school, these leaders represented St. Mary's with grace and reverence, honouring the solemn occasion.
Their presence and conduct not only honoured the significance of the service but also beautifully reflected the spirit of our school community. We are immensely proud of their commitment to upholding the values of respect and dignity.
Thank you to all the school leaders for your exemplary representation of St. Mary's. Your actions speak volumes about the character and integrity instilled within our student body.
