This week was RECONCILIATION WEEK in the Library and we read the book "Finding our Heart" by Thomas Mayor.  We also WELCOMED many of the 2026 Prep children and their parents to our first STORYTIME of the year at St. Mary's where the children were entertained by a reading of "Bluey" by our Vice Principal Mrs Graham.  The children enjoyed their first look at the Library and many were seen reaching out for books to get Mum or Dad to read to them!  We LOVED watching them explore and look forward to when they are here at our school next year.

A FOCUS of our Library purchases this term has been on NON-FICTION books.  Recent additions to our collection are books in the Deadly Science series ( eg The Solar System, Numbers in Nature, How plants thrive, Light and Colour).  We also have received 4  books in a series about  Aircrafts  and 4 books in a series about Materials Used (at Home, Work, Play & Shops).  Non Fiction books are FULL of colour and easy to understand descriptions of FACTS and are a great addition to developing reading skills, especially when it is on a TOPIC OF INTEREST.  Ask your children what they are interested in, and see if they can borrow a book on that topic.  Hopefully we have all interests covered!!
