Meet our Prep Teachers
 Name: CHARLOTTE LIPNICKI How long have you worked at St Mary’s - 24 Years What is your favourite thing about our school and especially teaching Prep? ● I love that the school is a community. ● The connectedness between school and parish. ● I love teaching Prep because there's nothing more rewarding than seeing the pure excitement and curiosity in young learners. ● Their eagerness to explore and discover is truly inspiring. ● I love most - is witnessing their incredible growth in that first year of school—the way their confidence blossoms and their skills develop day by day. ● Seeing the joy on their faces when they finally grasp a new concept, that spark of understanding and pride, is what makes teaching Prep so special to me." What’s an interesting fact about you? ● I have been teaching at St Mary’s for 24 years. ● Both my daughters attended St Mary’s.
 Name: DANIELLE MAHONY How long have you worked at St Mary’s? 15 years What is your favourite thing about our school and especially teaching Prep? ● I love that St Mary’s is small enough to get to know all the families. ● I also love working here because we are so close to the beach, the gardens and the main street. ● Prep is an awesome year to teach because you never know what they are going to say next! ● I also love teaching Prep because the students grow and learn so much in one year, it really is amazing! ● I love that Prep’s come to school with so much enthusiasm and excitement every day. What’s an interesting fact about you? ● I worked as a teacher in North Carolina for a year. ● I have been playing netball since I was in Grade three and I still love it!

What’s happening in Prep this weekWe are absolutely amazed by how much we’ve achieved in Prep this Term! By the end of the week, we will have learnt 19 letter sounds. We are using these sounds to read and spell three-letter words, and it's been so exciting to see the progress. The students are also working really hard on their letter formation, practicing with iPads, tracing cards, and whiteboards. It's wonderful to see how dedicated they are to perfecting their skills! In Maths, we are focusing on reading and writing teen numbers. We're also placing special emphasis on correct number formation, particularly for the digits 2, 5, and 8. The children are enjoying using counting songs to practice counting forwards and backwards by 1’s—making learning fun and interactive! We are so proud of all the effort the Prep students are putting in this week! Keep up the great work!
