Junior Council at Hobsons Bay City Council

Last Friday our School and Vice Captains attended their first Junior Council sessions at the Hobsons Bay Council.

Annika had the opportunity to be the first speaker. She began by sharing about the events that have taken place at St Mary’s this term and then presented the issue that our school would like to bring forward to the council.

Harmony Day

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging.

On Thursday, St Mary’s will celebrate Harmony Day. This is our first Wellbeing Day where students will be involved in activities that recognise diversity and celebrate the many cultures in our community.

Students are able to come dressed in colours or clothes that represent their cultural background. Students may also choose to wear something orange which is the colour theme of Harmony Week.
