Principal
Dear Parents, Carers and Community,
This week marks the end of Term 1. I take this time to wish everyone a
Holy and Safe Holiday.
Students return Monday April 15.
A reminder for all we have a school closure day on April 26. Staff will be having their first training day on Flourishing Learners. Day one will be about Classroom Control, Rules and Routines. If classrooms are not under control, students cannot learn and what we want is for students to behave in a way where it is automatic for them which also frees up their working memory allowing them to learn better. We have already started to introduce some of these practices with introducing uniform
- Calls to attention
- Entry Routines
- Exit Routines
- Gaining Student attention
- Moving through the school
- Behaviour during learning tasks
- Students gaining teacher attention

Parent Information Sessions: Our Parent Information Sessions were a huge success with many new and existing families attending to hear about the school. At the sessions we spoke about what is happening in the school, the science of learning, our curriculum program, our Faith Program, Student Well being and the Student Support Program We have started sending offers out to some families, so if you are an existing family please complete your application as soon as possible.
Launch of our Indigenous Uniform: Yesterday we had the launch for our Indigenous School Uniform and for many people, their first experience of a smoking ceremony. We thank the Bunurong Council for leading us through this ceremony. What we have done is created something special with a shared story sitting proudly on our uniform giving our students a connection to land and history.

Have a great holiday
