Dear Parents, Guardians and Community,
This week I am attending the National Catholic Education Commission Conference. It is the first gathering for six years. The previous conference was in Perth in 2016. There has been fantastic speeches from topics from Faith to Technology. Our students who joined us represented the school very proudly.
Macssis Surveys: Many families should now have received an invitation to take part in our Annual Family Surveys. It is really important that we have as many families as possible complete the surveys for the data to be valid. Thank you if you are able to complete the survey.
Footy and Fairy Day: Don't forget Footy and Fairy Day this Friday.
( A short one this week... working on it between sessions at the conference)
God Bless
Anthony

Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:

This week is National Child Protection Week (4th-10th September)
This years’ focus is to ensure children grow up safe and supported. Technology is a big part of our young people's lives, and it’s important that they feel safe to engage positively in the digital world.
The Cyber Safety Project has resources to support families with navigating this technological world with their children. Below is some information about a new podcast which is presented by Trent and Sam from ‘The Cyber Safety Project’.
There is also a link to the website which has further resources to support families.

The P&F Association meeting was held on Monday night via Zoom. Items discussed included parent social night for Term 4, Fabulous Family Fair and rolling out a new system to digitally collect volunteer registrations.
Father’ Day Breakfast - The Father’s Day Breakfast was held last Friday, and was well attended. We hope that all the significant men in our children’s lives felt appreciated. Without volunteers, things like the Father’s Day Breakfast would not be possible, so a huge THANK YOU to Jacinda Davies, Claire Beckton, Lora Winter, Julie Carey, Sofia Lopes, Narelle Knopp, Mel Geoghegan, Yolanda Andrews, Christine Walter and Madeleine Grace.
Maclean Reserve Volunteer Roster - a notice was sent home last week looking for volunteers to help keep Maclean Reserve safe and clean for our children. If you are interested in helping out, and even if you have returned the form previously, please return the volunteer form to school by next Wednesday 14th September.
If you have lost the form but would like to help out, additional forms are available at the school office.
Icy Pole Duty Volunteers - a notice was sent home last week looking for icy pole duty volunteers for the start of lunch each day in Term 4. If you are interested in helping out, please return the volunteer form to school by next Tuesday 13th September.
If you have lost the form but would like to help out, additional forms are available at the school office.
Footy and Fairies Fun Day - will be on Friday 9th September. To celebrate the upcoming footy finals season, children can come to school dressed in their favourite team colours, favourite sports code (think soccer, lacrosse, athletics etc). This year instead of a gold-coin donation, we are collecting family-sized blocks of chocolates and bags of lollies for the school fair.
The next 2nd hand uniform shop will be scheduled for Wednesday 14th September, from 8:30-9:30am in the hall, and fortnightly after that. In addition, uniforms can still be ordered at any time by emailing Sherrine and Meagan at uniformspf@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au

We recently celebrated the Year 8 Science Fair and as you can see in the photos the students were very excited to present their work and engage with their families about the projects that they had undertaken. It is always an exciting time when the students lead the communications with their families about their learning and we can have families onsite, it really fosters that sense of community that we hold dear at Emmanuel.
Please note that applications for enrolment for Year 7, 2024 closed on Friday, 19 August, 2022. If you have a child in Grade 5 and wish to be considered for a place at the College for your them in Year 7/2024, but have not yet applied, it is essential that you contact the College Registrar by emailing enrolments@ecmelb.catholic.edu.au or calling on 8325 5119 as a matter of urgency.
We hope to see you at one of our tours or our next experience event in November.
