Welcome back to Term Three
Sunday 17 July 2022
Luke 10:38-42 Mary and Martha
In this Sunday’s Gospel we read the story of two sisters who each took a different approach to offering Jesus hospitality. Resting at the feet of Jesus is a critical part of the Christian journey; we must be aware and be present to his presence in our lives. Mary understood that Jesus wasn’t concerned with the mess in her life, she humbly and gratefully sat with the Lord. Like Martha, it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to have everything in order before we feel worthy of God’s love. We wonder how God could accept us with all our faults. And yet, Jesus simply wants to know us personally and truthfully as we are, the dishes can be done later. What is your normal state of being: Mary or Martha? Are there parts of your life that you want to clean up and hide away before welcoming God into your home?
Confirmation Information
Saturday 16th July - 6:00 pm- Year 6 Family Mass
The Year 6’s will be celebrating their Family Mass. As part of their preparation for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation the children will presented to the Parish community. We look forward to seeing a many of the Year 6 students and their families at the Mass.
Fr Elio Capra will be running the session and always makes his information sessions informative and engaging. We look forward to seeing as many parents and sponsors on the evening.
Altar Servers needed for the Confirmation Masses
We desperately need Altar servers to help Bishop Martin and Fr Greg at the Confirmation Masses. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Altar Servers.
The Mass dates are listed in the list of important dates to remember below.
Fr Greg has given me a list of students who are Altar servers and I will be meeting with them on Friday and sending home a note.
I thank the children and their parents in advance for their support.

School Disco - Tickets now on sale!
Our school disco is scheduled for Friday 19th August at the School Hall.
It's time for the kids to have a boogie and show off their dance moves at the School Disco. This is set to be a fun night just for our children. The cost is $10 per child and tickets can be purchased via CDF Pay (insert link to CDF Pay). Please note that only St Mary’s children are able to attend this event. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Bianca Paton
To help ease congestion, this year we are running the disco in 2 x Sessions:
Session one is for the Preps, Grade 1 & 2’s and will run from 6.00pm to 7.15pm.
Session two is for Grade 3, 4, 5 & 6’s and will run from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
For those of you that registered to volunteer already we will be in contact shortly to confirm you are still available. All volunteers must hold a current Working With Children permit which will need to be shared with Bianca.
Father’s Day Stall Voucher - Available Now
Father’s Day Stall Vouchers are now available via CDFpay. As per the Mother’s Day stall, children will be able to purchase gifts for their special people using vouchers supplied on the day. Vouchers will be available until 19th August, however get in early so you don’t forget to order.
Now that Maclean Reserve has opened to our students, we would like to keep it a clean and safe space for our students. If you would like to help keep Maclean Reserve safe for our students, then please consider volunteering for the Maclean Reserve roster for Term 3. Volunteers collect the bucket and gloves from the office in the morning, and police the area before school; it takes approximately 15 minutes of your time. If you would like to volunteer, please collect a form from the office, or alternatively email your contact details and availability to volunteers@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au. Thank you to all of those parents who have already volunteered.
The next 2nd hand uniform shop will be scheduled for Wednesday 27th July, from 8:30-9:30am in the hall, and fortnightly after that. In addition, uniforms can still be ordered at any time by emailing Sherrine and Meagan at uniformspf@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
