Dear Parents, Guardians and Community,
Thank you to all involved with the Jogathon. From all reports it went very smoothly and was a great success. A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends Association, (P&F), especially Claire and Amanda who were our main organisers.
Congratulations to all our First Reconciliation Candidates. It is always exciting for students to celebrate a Sacrament. Thanks to Father Greg, Charlotte and all the families for their efforts to prepare the students.
Details of our School Camp Program are in today's newsletter. One of our new changes actually happens this week with our Year 1's staying at the school until late this week with their "Fun, Food and Fitness,' night. Our aim is that by the time our Year 6 students get to their big camp, they are very used to being away and independent.
Last Day of Term. Don't forget the last day of term is a School Closure Day. The main thing we will be working on on that day will be the Intervention Framework. This is part of our school Improvement Plan under the banner of improving our behaviour supports programs.
School Photos: Next Thursday we have our Annual School Photos. We ask for all students to be in winter uniform with their hair tied back.
God bless
Anthony

Fifth Sunday of Lent
God of Glory,
Thank you for showing us
the way to you in Jesus, your son.
Give us courage to walk in his footsteps,
feeding those who hunger
and welcoming those in need.
May we find you int these footsteps,
and may others dare to join us
on that path towards you.
Amen
Congratulations - Year 3
Congratulations to the Year 3 students who made their Sacrament of Reconciliation last week. Fr Greg was very impressed with how well prepared the children were. A big thank you the Year 3 teachers, Ms Sutton and Ms Ebinger and to Monique who supported the school and parish children in preparing for this Sacrament.
Project Compassion
We have 2 weeks left to show our support!
‘Working together for justice and dignity. Walking together in hope. Building together a thriving future for all.’
Caritas Australia is an international aid and development agency of the Australian Catholic Church.
They strive to seek social justice and dignity for every person.
They work with local communities in Australia and overseas, listening to concerns and assessing the needs of communities.
With help, compassion and our support, Caritas hopes to work towards a world where all people may thrive!
In every classroom there is a project compassion box. The season of Lent gives us an opportunity to recognise how lucky we are, despite our grievances and think of others less fortunate than ourselves.
During this time of Lent, please encourage your children to be compassionate and think of others in need in two simple ways.
- Children could choose to give up their icypole and donate the $1.00 to project compassion.
- Children could donate a week’s pocket money.
Showing our support - How long is our gold coin line at St Mary’s?
How long is our line of coins?
How far will it go?
On Friday 1 children can bring in a gold cointo add to our line
Year 4 Eucharist
We will be opening the bookings on Thursday 6th April.
We cannot open the bookings any sooner, because Fr Greg and Monique are still waiting on the parish children to register. Registration for the Parish children does not close until the end of term.
Important dates to Remember for Term 2
We look forward to welcoming parents back to school Masses and liturgies in the Church.

Jogathon
Last Friday 25th March the weather was perfect for the annual St Mary’s Jogathon. Thanks to the support of TreeHaus, DJ Ben rocked out some popular dance tunes while an enthusiastic group of Mt St Joseph students led the warm-up sessions.
The success of this year’s Jogathon can be attributed to the meticulous planning of Claire Bekcton and Amanda Osuchowski, who together with a large group of volunteers, managed to make this Jogathon one to remember. Our thanks also goes to Justine Brogna (TreeHaus) for sponsoring the sound equipment and Hot Lunch for the winning class, to Woolworths for the fresh fruit, and to Kelly Sport for the other class prize. We also extend our thanks to the VCAL students of Mt St Joseph College who confidently and enthusiastically encouraged our students, and to all of the parents, grandparents, teachers and friends who turned up to cheer our students on.
There are 2 classes who have returned over 70% of their donations, so we might just find out who will be crowned Jogathon class of the year by next week. Don’t forget your sponsorship pledges can be returned at any time using the CDFpay app; contact treasurer@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au if you require any help with this app.
Easter Raffle
There is just 1 week left to purchase your tickets in the annual Easter raffle via CDFpay. Ness Meikle and her helpers have been busy putting together the prize hampers, and they look wonderful. Thank-you to all of the parents who have donated items for the prizes; the final date for items is this Friday 1st April, and the last day to purchase tickets is the 5th of April. Tickets are $2 each, 5 for $10, 12 for $20, and 25 for $40. There is no restriction on the number of tickets purchased by each family.
Prizes will be distributed on the last day of term
Mother’s Day Stall
After the success of last year’s Mother’s Day stall, we have decided to run it again. The stall will be on Friday 29th April, which is the first week back, so vouchers are now available via CDFpay. Please note that vouchers will not be available on the day because the number of gifts available on the day is calculated by the number of vouchers purchased 2 days before the stall. Vouchers are $5 each, and students will be able to purchase one gift with each voucher. Multiple vouchers can be purchased if your child would like to also buy a gift for Nonna, Grandma, Auntie or any other significant person in their life.
We will require volunteers to help on the day - if you are interested in helping out, could you please contact Bianca Paton volunteers@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
Mother’s Day Morning Tea
We are looking for some enthusiastic fathers to serve at the Mother’s Day morning tea next term. If you can help, or would like to volunteer a father to help out, please email Bianca Paton volunteers@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
Also, we are looking for a volunteer who would like to help put together the slide-show of Mother-child photos which are projected during the Morning Tea. If you have the technical skills to help, please email Victoria Crowe vicepresident@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
Photos of Mum with their children can be emailed to pnf@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
Second Hand Uniform Pop Up Shop
The last 2nd hand uniform shop for this term will be next Wednesday April 6th, 8:30-9:30am in the hall.
We have plenty of Winter uniforms if anyone needs last minute items for photo day.
Otherwise, orders can be emailed through at any time to uniformspf@smwilliamstown.catholic.edu.au
