Dear Parents, Guardians and Community,
Reconciliation: This week is a big week at school as we have many of our Year Three students celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. The students have put in a great effort preparing for this Sacrament and we thank their teachers Michelle Ebinger and Jenny Sutton who have supported them on this journey.
Ride to school day: Thank you to Karoline Cooke for our very successful Ride to School Day. We had close to 250 bikes, scooters, skateboarders and walkers on the day, which is a tremendous effort. Having students be active on the way to school is a wonderful start to the day and helps them to concentrate. A big thank you to Salter Cycles for their very generous donation of a bike light for every student in the school. We ask that you all visit Salter Bikes if you are considering buying a new bike. Also, thank you to the Police who came and spoke to all the students.
Feast of St Joseph. Thank you to Michelle Ebinger, Brittany Rickman and Charlotte Lipnicki and our Year Prep Students who lead us in our celebration of the Feast of St Joseph. It is was very impressive seeing them reading at their first Mass. The Sisters of St Joseph have an important place in the history of the school.
Staffing News: Unfortunately, our new Psychologist Kellynne Yu has had to resign for personal reasons. We are looking at alternative services to come up with a solution. We will let the community know when we have a new service organised. We can access the Melbourne Archdiocesan Catholic Schools (MACS) services, however their can be a delay as they support many schools.
Sustainability: On Tuesday, I attended the ResourceSmart In The West breakfast. I heard several speakers about initiative taking place in school to boost sustainability practices. It was a chance to hear some great ideas and see what we can do in our own school.
Carpet and Doors: Everything is booked in for the carpet to be replaced in the school and the electric door to be installed. Hopefully all goes to plan!!!
Culture and Conduct Commitment. We have included the Community and Conduct Commitment in today's newsletter. A good reminder to us all what our school is about. A community working together to get the best possible outcomes for all.
End of Term: A reminder that the last day of school this term is Wednesday. School finishes at the normal time, 3.30. On Thursday the teachers will be working on Term 2 preparation.
God Bless
Anthony
Congratulations to the Year 3 students who are making their Reconciliation this week. During their preparation for this Sacrament, the children have been learning about how to restore relationships, how they can make amends for their actions when they hurt someone and how they can show that they are very sorry. Ms Sutton and Ms EBinger are extremely proud of how the Year 3 children have responded and practiced all that they have learnt about forgiveness.

Stations of the Cross
Dear Parents/ Guardians and Parishioners,
The 5/ 6 students at St Mary’s would like to warmly welcome you to view our portrayal of the Stations of the Cross. The Stations will be performed by our
students in short dramatisations with reflective prayers and prompts to guide audiences into a deeper appreciation of the Passion of Jesus. The Stations of the
Cross for parents and parishioners will commence at 10.05 am on Tuesday 30th March outside the front of the Parish Centre.
Each year level will be viewing the stations throughout the morning at appointed intervals.
We hope to see you join in this solemn experience for Holy Week.

The Nudel kart is a mobile interactive playground that comes apart in many different pieces and is filled with loose parts for students to manipulate, build and play with. It encourages imagination, creativity, problem-solving and positive social interaction.
The Nudel Kart also encourages students to experiment and explore using a variety of materials and coordinate and cooperate with a sense of teamwork to achieve a common goal.
We are currently collating the student’s ideas on how to best organise the responsibility of setting and packing up as well as determining how groups of students are scheduled to use the kart.
Below are photos of the Year 2’s and 4’s using the Nudel Kart.
