Dear Parents and Community,
Can I start by saying how wonderful it is to have the students back at school. We feel like we are a school again. A big thank you to staff, families and students for all your work other the last few months, but I am sure everyone is happy to be back in the school. We have certainly learnt many things and hopefully we can continue to use some of these new skills. Our priority firstly is to get the students settled and back into some sort of routine as we restart our at school learning program.
This Friday we have our Health and Well being day for the students. This is all about getting the students back and settled into school and celebrating being together. Students are to dress in their house colours!! Students can spray their hair, but this must be done at home.
The other great community event that we hope all families get behind is the October 30, Virtual family Disco from 7:30 to 8:30. It should be lots of fun. What a great way to reconnect with the community and have a bit of fun. See flyer for details.
Congratulations to Charlotte Lipnicki, who was selected as a semi-finalist for the 2020 BIC® Cristal® Pen Awards! The BIC Cristal Pen Awards recognise and celebrate exceptional educators who are making an impact on their students and communities by inspiring and preparing the next generation to thrive. Charlotte was nominated by one of our Parent community. It is great to recognise our fantastic teachers.
Building update: Our building works continue and hopefully we are in our classrooms soon. The hall will be finished off with new lighting and better av/audio equipment to complete that area. We will have our footpaths blocked off for another couple of weeks while they complete drainage works.
God Bless and Stay Safe,
Anthony
Let us pray.
O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ Our Lord.
Amen
October, Month of the Rosary
The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is primarily due to the fact that the liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.
The Rosary draws its mysteries from the New Testament and is centered on the great events of the Incarnation and Redemption with each decade referring to an event in the life of Jesus and Mary. The Mysteries of the Rosary give us “thumbnails” of the life of Christ and his Mother.
- The Joyful Mysteries are taken mostly from Saint Luke’s Gospel in the New Testament. They involve the joyful events of Jesus’ childhood.
- The Luminous Mysteries bring a deeper understanding to the public life of Jesus. They fill in the blanks between the childhood of Jesus and His suffering and death on the cross.
- The Sorrowful Mysteries remind us of how much Jesus loves us. They recall how He suffered and died just for us.
- The Glorious Mysteries tell us what happened after Jesus died-His Resurrection, the descent of the Holy Spirit and the love Jesus had for his Mother.
Sacraments 2020
We are currently waiting for restrictions to lift on the amount of people who are allowed to gather in the church. Because of this, the dates for the sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion for 2020 are still unknown at this stage. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be aware that these sacraments may need to be postponed until 2021. Watch this space!
