Dear Parents, Guardians and Community,
Our Fabulous Fair is not far away. Check out some of our students inspecting some of our raffle prizes for the Fair!!
A reminder for all that we have a school closure day next Monday meaning the school will be closed until Wednesday next week with Tuesday being a public holiday for the Melbourne Cup. I know many families use this as a mini break as we lead into a busy time leading up to Christmas.
Poetry Slam Videos. In Term 3 our Year 6 students worked with Slam Poet Emilie Zoey Baker to write and perform Poetry. After two sold out gigs, we were able to get some filming done at school of our two winners in action. The videos were done in our hall with the whole school watching, so many of our students are featured. These videos are now on our school website for all to see
Building Program: We received notice last week that we were unsuccessful in our Building Grant Application which is to begin stage 2 of our Master Plan. With current rising building costs it may have been a bit of a blessing in disguise as I know many schools with current building programs have run into trouble with building costs coming in much higher than the original plan. We will reapply next year.
God Bless
Anthony

We would like to wish all Year 12 students the best of luck in their exams commencing this week. This is an important part on the pathways that come next for students and as the adults in their life we should all be encouraging them to strive for personal bests. People cannot be asked for more than delivering the best they can and we will be proud of all students and their achievements no matter the outcome.
As one group are coming to the end of their time at the College, there is another group who are planning for their start here. We had a great Parent Information Night last week, with many excited young people coming along and preparing for life at Emmanuel. The next transition event for students is the Orientation Morning on Tuesday 29 November. Keep a look out for emails about that event.
Last Friday, we distributed offers of enrolment for students due to commence in Year 7, 2024. A reminder that the closing date for acceptance of these offers is Friday 11 November, 2022. We have a substantial waiting list at each campus and will make second round offers in the event that a family don’t take up their offer.
Our next College experience opportunity is the Twilight Talk & Tour event being held at St Paul’s Campus. Registrations are essential for this event and can be made via the Tours and Events tab on the right-hand side of the homepage of the College website, www.ecmelb.catholic.edu.au
Details are as follows:
St Paul’s Campus - Tuesday 15 November - Commencing at 6.00 pm
We look forward to seeing you at our school soon.
St Mary's Families Supporting Each Other
Financially: Did you know that families often financially donate to support other families. This may come in the form of offering to pay for another families school fees, camp fees or other costs. We cannot give money to another family directly, however we can use that money to supplement their school fees, camp fees etc.)To support another family in our school, use our normal bank account with a reference;
ST MARY'S FAMILY SUPPORT DONATION
Bank Account BSB 083 347 Account Number: 658206494
Second Hand Uniform Shop: Many families donate old uniforms to our second hand shop. These second hand uniforms are either resold or donated to families in our school.
Book Exchange: Did you know we have a book exchange near the entry of our school? Many families use this to donate and swap books.
St Mary's Parish School Building fund (Tax Deductable) You may also choose to support the school by making a donation to the St Mary's Parish School Building Fund. All donations to this fund are tax deductable. Funds can only be spent on a set criteria which include building maintenance, repair, replacement or a new building.
